Dear Heera, every State Medical Council has its own rules and regulations for OCI, PIOs. Karnataka considers them as NRIs. In this context, it is important to know which State did you complete your MBBS from. Technically, if you want to practise in India, you need to go for Provisional/Permanent Registration with the State Medical Council. Those who have registered with State Medical Council, needn't register again with MCI. Hope this helps!
