Ofcourse it is easy for you to get veterinary college at this marks usually marks more than 480 plus considered safe but in mop up rounds it goes down to 460 marks for sc category students.

you have chances to secure a seat through all india counseling. Maybe you will not be able to get a good college but if you try till last counseling you may get some better options. You should fill the choices very smartly and understand your preferences for selecting any college through all india counseling.

Hello!!!

Yes, an SC student with 477 in NEET has fair chances of getting admitted into veterinary college although everything depends on several factors like which state you belong to, how many seats are available in that particular veterinary college, and so on.

Here's how things go down:

1. NEET for Veterinary Courses: Neet is the standard entrance examination for admission to veterinary courses like BVSc (Bachelor of Veterinary Science) in India. Admissions however, are largely on the basis of merit with different cut-offs for different categories, including SC.

2. SC Category Relaxation: As an SC student, you experience the facility of seat reservations and a relatively lesser cutoff at most of the colleges. The NEET cutoff for the SC category is lesser than that of the general category in most cases, giving it a better opportunity with 477 marks.

3. State Quota vs. All India Quota: There are two quotas through which admission for veterinary courses take place:

  • 15% All India Quota (AIQ): Much tough competition, yet the chances are good with SC due to the cutoff
  • 85% State Quota: This is granted by every state with its corresponding cutoff

4. Previous Year Cutoffs: Compared with previous years, the cutoffs for veterinary colleges vary every year; hence, for SC candidates, checking the trends of the previous years will provide better confidence. Variable cutoff standards across the different states, such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and UP, are observed.

With 477 marks and SC reservation, you should have a pretty good chance of getting into a veterinary college.

Thankyou!!

Hi Sajitha,

The answer depends if you have SC quota certificate with you or not. if you have the certificate then there are good chances of getting a veterinary college. Rest depends upon the cutoff of that particular year in which you appear for NEET exam.

Hope you will get your dream college. We wish you all the very best!
