Yes, a student not having a domicile of Maharashtra can also apply for medical colleges of Maharashtra but the condition is that the student cannot apply for the colleges under the state quota . He has to apply for the colleges under AIQ and the problem here is that the cutoffs for Central counselling are usually more than the colleges under state counselling. But from this year , a rule has been made that there is no reservation for students outside Maharashtra in private medical colleges of Maharashtra .there is reservation only for 85% state quota and 15% for NRIs. A student from outside Maharashtra can only apply in deemed universities and government medical colleges of Maharashtra.
