Hi. To avail a seat in government medical colleges of a particular way, you may opt for one of the two ways:
1. Apply for the all india counselling which covers the 15% seats reserved under AIQ.
2. Avail the seat under 85% of the state quota which will be possible only if you are a domicile candidate of a particular state.
here is the eligibility for a candidate to qualify as a domicile candidate in the state of karnataka:
- To apply for a Karnataka domicile certificate, the applicant should have been a permanent resident in the state for at least 6 years from a given year.
- If the applicant’s age is less than 18 years, the domicile of the father is essential.
As you can see, unless you have been a permanent resident in the state for 6 years or above OR unless your father is a domicile holder, you will only be eligible for the management seats.
