Can a third year B.Tech. student give GATE exam?
Yes, a third year btech student is eligible to write Gate exam. Previously there is no chance for a third year btech students to write a Gate exam it was applicable only for the fourth year students. Indian Institute of Bombay has brought a massive changes regarding the eligibility criteria. As there is no age limit for Gate , students has a benefit of attending the exam twice before they complete their graduation.

The basic academic qualification required to appear for GATE exam is that the candidate either have passed their engineering degree or master's degree in any relevant science subject, those candidate who are in pre-final year that means third year of their engineering degree are also eligible to appear for GATE exam.
Final year students that means 4th year students of engineering are also eligible for GATE exam.

Yes for GATE 2021 even third year candidate are eligible tp give GATE. IIT Bombay GATE 2021 is scheduled to be held on February 6, 7, 13 and 14, 2021. The paper-wise GATE exam schedule 2021 is available on GOAPS 2021 website. GATE Admit card will be released on January 8 online at gate.iitb.ac.in. IIT Bombay will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2021 in online mode only. Final year or 3rd-year candidates are eligible to appear in GATE 2021. There is no minimum or maximum age limit for applying to GATE exam 2021. Facility to change GATE exam city was available from December 14 to 15. The application window is now closed. Last date to apply was October 14th 2020.
