There are various eligibility criteria in order to write KCET examination.
the basic criteria is a candidate should have studied at least 7 years in karnataka. or the parents of the candidate should have studied at least 7 years in karnataka in order to write KCET.
But if you want to enter into the engineering colleges of karnataka do not worry there is an exam called as COMEDK which can be given by any student of india.
This exam is much easier then other engineering exams and do not have any negative marking.

To be eligible to appear in KCET
- A candidate must be an Indian
- A candidate must have studied atleast for 7 years(class 1-class12) and passed from a recognised institute in Karnataka.
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Maths, Physics, Chemistry/biology/Biotechnology/Electronics/Computer.General category candidates must have passed with atleast 45% for SC/ST/OBC it is 40% from a recognised board or university.
So, it is necessary that candidate must have studied for atleast 7 years from a recognised institute in Karnataka to be eligible.Candidates who have passed 10+2 from other state are not eligible.
