Hey!

Both DNA-related fields and nautical sciences are very different from each other and cannot be compared as such. Your interests in particular fields determine which course will be better for you.

You can opt for undergraduate courses like

  • Bachelor of Science in Genetics (B.Sc. (Genetics))
  • Bachelor of Science Honors in Genetics (B.Sc (Hons.) Genetics)
  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Genetics, Microbiology & Chemistry
  • Master of Philosophy in Genetics (M.Phill.(Genetics))
  • Master of Science in Genetics (M.Sc.(Genetics))
  • Master of Science Honors in Genetics (M.Sc (Hons.) Genetics)
  • Master of Science (M.Sc) in Applied Genetics
  • Master of Science (M.Sc) in Biomedical Genetics
  • Master of Science (M.Sc) in Human Genetics
  • Master of Science (M.Sc) in Molecular Biology and Human Genetics
  • Master of Science (M.Sc) in Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics
  • Master of Science (M.Sc) in Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Genetics (Ph.D. (Genetics))
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Human Genetics.

  • B.Sc. in Nautical Science is a study of the basic academic and practical devices required to safely navigate and operate marine vehicles, such as a ship. The subjects of study that form part of the course’s curriculum are navigation and seamanship, which is the basic science of application of shipboard equipment and tools.
  • The program aims to train eligible candidates in becoming Deck Officers and imparts lessons in Nautical Technology and its application, which are vital for a Deck Officer on board.
  • One can opt for a three-year B.Sc. Nautical Science or Maritime Science course approved by the Director- General of Shipping (DGS).
  • A four-year professional marine engineering degree course is the right path for a career in nautical science.
  • Students who have cleared plus-two level with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English are eligible. Those who have passed plus-two with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics have the eligibility to get hired as deck cadets. Young graduates with a mechanical or electrical engineering degree can also join as engine cadets after undertaking a basic pre-sea training.
  • Ranks in the JEE Mains and Advanced, fitness tests for both mental and physical agility and individual performance at the counselling and interview sessions include the admission criterion.
  • Options are positions like marine engineer, chief engineer, polyvalent officer and master or chief engineer.

Hope it helps!
