CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN COMPLETELY ABOUT NEGATIVE MARKING ?
First of all you have not mentioned about the entrance exam. Now as per your profile I can assume that you are an engineering aspirant and you will be giving jee Mains exam.
So, if you want to give jee mains exam then you must know the pattern of jee mains.
So, this year there has been slight changes in the pattern of jee Mains from the last year.
As per the latest JEE Main 2021 exam pattern, paper 1 will have a total of 90 questions, 25 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. And you have to attempt only 75 questions. These questions will be of 4 marks ( if done correct ), and minus 1 will be rewarded if you do any wrong question.
Each subject will have 20 MCQs and 10 numerical questions. 5 out of 10 numerical questions are optional.
Numerical questions wil not have negative marking.

Hello,
In JEE Main 2021 paper1, the total number of questions is 90. 30 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Math. A candidate have to answer total 75 questions i.e. 25 from each subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Math). JEE Main 2021 for paper 1 will be conducted for total 300 marks.
Each subject will have 20 MCQs and 10 numerical questions. The candidate have to answer 20 MCQs for each subject and the 5 out of 10 numerical questions are optional.
For MCQs 4 Marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 1 Mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
And for the Numerical questions 4 Marks will be awarded for every correct answer and 0 Mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. So, there is no negative marking for numerical type questions.
Hope it helps!
Good luck!
