you need to choose pmc or mpc stream after 10th and after 12th you need to give entrance exams for various institutions and universities and later after completion you will be ready to apply for the stream of cse or it which would get uh jobs as software engineeer.
another way is to choose diploma and the process is same but you will entering btech directly in the second year after 3 years of diploma.

You have to choose Maths, physics, chemistry as core in 12th.
After 12th, write your state Engineering entrance exams or write JEE Main followed by JEE advance or if you have any preferred college then write that college preferred entrance exam to join in engineering.
After join in a reputable recognized college and join Computer science as specialization..
Once you join in computer science specialization, there you will have a clear picture and you will learn by yourself on how to become a software engineer.

Hello, After 10th you take Maths +Computer science and start some coding practice daily its better for your college time so practice from 11th and continue in 12th also after that if you think you clear Jee mains and advance then go for it with gap but if you not supposed to clear that exams then go for best private college and take B.tech in CSE then continue your college with coding skills improvement and practice and learn some new skills by yourself then go for placement then you became an software engineer .
