Can anyone please tell me the total, brief, detailed steps for an Indian to become a Doctor in United States?
Now, NEET is mandatory for studying MBBS abroad. You should qualify in NEET for studying abroad. So the NEET eligibility criteria need to be met:
NEET ELIGIBILITY:
- Indian Nationals, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and Foreign Nationals
- No upper age limit as of now. The Candidate should be at least 17 years by December 31st of the year of admission
- You should have completed your 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as your Core Subjects.
- 50% Aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC,SC,ST Candidates.
- NIOS and Private Candidates are also eligible
NEET score is valid for 3 years for studying MBBS abroad. You need to appear for MCAT for getting admission to MBBS in USA. It is an online test of 4-5 hours duration judging you on your knowledge of reasoning, science and writing skills. Based on the score you can start applying for Medical Colleges. Now there will also be a Language Proficiency test that you need to take. Post these results, you can apply through American Medical College Application System. The course duration is of 5.5 years.
