Can anyone provide me previous years GATE(MA) cut off for pH.D. in Mathematics at IIT KANPUR for gen. category? My GATE SCORE 452, AIR 463
Hii Ansh, if you have done M.Tech then you don't need your GATE score. According to IIT Kanpur website you must score a minimum score of 65% in your masters and then you can apply for a written test held twice a year. You will be shortlisted for an interview on the basis of this test.
If you have done B.tech and want an admission then your GATE score will be required.There is no fixed GATE score for the IITs as they consider your B.tech score as well, a great B.tech score and a decent GATE score is equivalent to an excellent GATE score and a decent B.tech score, so I have mentioned below the average GATE score required for different IITs. The cutoffs are as follows-
- For new IITs like Jodhpur and Indore an average score of 450+ would be enough with excellent academics.
- For IITs like Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar, Guwahati a score of 640+ [excellent academics] and 690+ [decent academics] would do.
- For the old and famous IITs like IIT Kanpur, Kharagpur a GATE score of 720+ [excellent academics] and 750+[decent academics] would be required.
