Can anyone share your experience starting writing the SNUSAT + apt exam to get admission into the Shiv Nadar University?
Hi!
Shiv Nadar University is a research-based university with a very good faculty. To get into here, you have to give an entrance test called SNUSAT+APT where SNUSAT is an aptitude test while APT is a subject-specific test. There are two rounds of SNUSAT where applications are open for round 1 for nearly a month and a half. If you give your exam then(which is preferable considering mostly seats are filled in the round 1 only), you have to wait till beginning June to get the results for round 1.
You can visit on campus anytime during this for a campus tour, which is advisable as you get a detailed knowledge of the campus. During the third week of July, there is registration day when you have to finally come to campus with your stuff and stay here till the next 4 years of your life. At that point, you feel like rats burrowing in your stomach, but speaking from my experience, it's going to be great.
The first place accessible to you just after shifting is the hostel. Hostels are really neat and clean, with ACs provided to the students. Parents are not allowed inside the hostels so that you can be the man here in your room taking all the decisions and responsibility for your things and living. You get a random roommate in your 1st year and after that, you get to choose who becomes your roommate. One week before coming, you get information about your would-be roommate, so that you can contact them. Then there is a mess, where you get to interact with friends, or friends of friends!
Just after the registration, you have orientation sessions, exclusively for the newcomers so as to get them acquainted with the new campus and the faculty they are going to study under, and the people you are going to study with. Then finally you have your classes started, mostly from 25 July-1 August.
Once the campus life starts you get conversant with the rules, people, lifestyle and the curriculum and I am pretty sure you will like it. One thing I can say for sure, once you come here you will, like everyone here, feel that it is a whole new civilization in itself!
Best of luck! :)
