Can anyone Suggest me which branches have Good Future scope and are better to pick for M.tech in EC(GATE)
Hi Bhargav MSD,
Here is the suggested order of preference for various specializations.
- Communication Systems: This specialization has more job opportunities in ece department, you can get a job in either software or core or networking companies. which has more chance to get any job.
- Embedded systems and VLSI Systems: In this, you can get an opportunity in either embedded programming companies or VLSI companies. If you have any interested in software field you can enter into that also but you need to learn some programming languages like c,c++. Nowadays there are so many VLSI based companies are there, so you can get a job either on or off campus.
- Signal Processing and Image processing: This is also one of the good branches in M.tech if any company open recruitment in DSP profile then they will call us. Software field is the optional any branch can eligible.
- Computer Engineering: Some colleges take admissions to this branch from ECE department also, but there are a few numbers of seats. This one provides high opportunities in software and IT field and Networking field.
These are the four branches most of the top-ranked students are opting during counselling time, here I am not saying that other branches have fewer opportunities they can also have a good opportunity, but when compared to above four they have less in ece department.
Other departments that you can look forward to are -
- Electronics Circuit Design
- Wireless Communication
- Optical Communication
- Robotics
- Analog electronics
- Digital electronics
- Telecommunications
- Power Electronics
- Consumer Electronics
- Solid State Physics
- Control system
- Defence
- Nanotechnology
- Mobile Companies
Hope it was useful to you.
