Hello Siddhant

Difference between BE and B.Tech

Bachelor of Engineering

  • B.E. is considered as knowledge-oriented course.
  • More emphasis is laid on theory and focuses on strong fundamentals.
  • Being more knowledge oriented, course curriculum is updated but not as frequent as the other.
  • Internships and industrial visits may be an essential part of the curriculum.
  • Generally, universities offering other degrees (like science, arts, education etc.) along with engineering named their engineering degree as B.E.
  • Some of the popular colleges are NSIT, BITS-Pilani, Anna University Chennai etc.

Bachelor of Technology

  • B. Tech is considered as skill-oriented course.
  • More emphasis is laid on practical applications rather than theoretical aspects
  • Being technology oriented, course curriculum is considered as more upto date
  • Internships and industrial visits are a mandatory part of the curriculum.
  • Generally, institutes (including IITs) offering only Engineering studies named their degree as B.Tech.
  • Some of the popular colleges are IITs, NITs, DTU etc.

Hope it helps.
