Hello Siddhant,
Here are few points cited regarding both B.E. and B.Tech courses:
B.E. (Bachelor in Engineering)
The course of this degree focuses on theoretical knowledge needed to innovate technology and make new technical gadgets.
B.Tech. (Bachelor in Technology)
The course of this degree focuses on the application and skill-based study and is useful if one is interested in modifying structures to enhance their quality.
Difference:
Engineering is a "science" and so has more of theoretical concepts & principles in its course curriculum whereas technology deals more with the application of these theories for practical work and accordingly its course is designed.
Similarity:
Both B.E. & B.Tech courses have similar curriculum more or less and so both degrees are valued equally by prospective employers.
Nowadays, there is not much difference between B.E. and B. Tech. and no degree is superior over the other. What matters more is the reputation of the engineering college from where you obtain your B.E/ B.Tech degree. While taking admission you must look for a college or university which has better infrastructure, faculty, campus placement, and whether the course they offer is approved by AICTE and UGC or not.
Depends on the interest of a student. If you want to get into research-oriented work and want to pursue higher studies then B.E. may be preferred over B. Tech. But at present neither is preferred over the other as the core subjects are almost the same only the approach may be different.
B. Tech is offered by government institutes and B.E. is offered by private institutes.
This is not true as there are many good government institutes like the University of Mumbai (Department of Chemical Technology) offering B.E. degree and many other private ones offering B.Tech degree.
Hope this is going to solve your query.
