hello there,

Yes, infact a graduate from any stream can appear in the exam.

Arts background students get an edge over others while appearing in written test and interview process because of their excellent command over English language and inter-personal skills. Moreover, now quite a few IIMs give out extra marks to non- engineering students

Hope this helps.

Hi sanchit,

The basic criteria to be eligible to write CAT  examination is that the candidate must have an undergraduate degree from any stream, may it be arts, commerce or science. The minimum expectation from the board is that  the candidate must have at least 50% in their UG degree in order to appear for CAT examination.

Therefore a BA student can very well appear in CAT exam and can also pursue a MBA degree if he/she has 50% in his /her UG degree.

Hello,

Yes of course infact a graduate from any stream can give the exams with whole heartedly. And for preparation you cam go through this way this might helpful to you.

Most of the students with arts background tend to believe in the myth that CAT is not their cup of tea. They always feel that CAT is only meant for science graduates. But CAT 2016 this year have blown their apprehensions into fumes. Across India, there are a good number of candidates with arts background who have come up with flying colours and will be receiving calls from different IIMs.

Hope this helps
