1. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in any field from a recognized institution or institute.

2. Candidates must have received a minimum of 55% in their graduation.

3. Candidates must take the admission examination. (Entrance examination)

So as far as we see it through the eligibility criteria's aspect, Yes a commerce student can pursue post graduation in UX Design.

As far as the 2nd part you mentioned in your question, about "I see many institutions take if the candidate has a bachelors in related field of design or IT eg. Btech, BCA etc"

The above aspect totally depends on the college and varies from college to college.
