1. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in any field from a recognized institution or institute.
2. Candidates must have received a minimum of 55% in their graduation.
3. Candidates must take the admission examination. (Entrance examination)

As far as the 2nd part you mentioned in your question, about "I see many institutions take if the candidate has a bachelors in related field of design or IT eg. Btech, BCA etc"
The above aspect totally depends on the college and varies from college to college.
