AIT stands for Army Institute of Technology
AIT admission is based on the All India Ranking obtained in the Joint Entrance Exam.
Educational Qualification- Class XII with compulsory subjects as Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry.
Candidates should obtain at least 50% in the above combination of subjects and only Children of serving/retired Army personnel are eligible.
The parent should have completed minimum 10 years of service in the Army
The candidate should have passed diploma in relevant stream with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. Candidates should have completed their diploma from Board of Technical Education or from institutions approved by AICTE with an eligible percentage recognised by institutions.

Candidates are admitted in the second year of their degree course directly, hence they complete their Engineering Degree in three years. Eligibility for lateral entry in Engineering: The candidate should have passed diploma in relevant stream with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.
Eligible candidates should apply on plain paper along with mark sheets (Xerox) of pervious year (FE / SE as applicable) (both semesters). Based on the vacancies existing in branches, the applicant will get admission as per the Merit list based on the candidates qualifying exam.
