For BPMT or any other paramedical courses, candidates whose parents are defense personnel or retired in any branch of army are eligible to take admission. Girls students' are also equally eligible to take admission into the course. AFMC also offers MBBS and B.sc Nursing which do not have any other requisite like from defense background. Civilians are equally eligible. If you get admission in this college, after completion of the course, you will be commissioned in the branches of army as Lieutenant and further promotions as per the rules. Firstly, the candidate is commissioned under Short Service Commission whose tenure is of 14 years. After candidates can get permanent commission in the Indian Army. However, it is not necessarily that all candidates get short service commission, it varies with the candidates' performance as well or the rules followed for the same.
