Can girls undertake aeronautics engineering?are there any scholarships for girls if they do aeronautics engineering?
Aeronautical Engineering is one of the frontier branches of engineering dealing with the study of the principles and technology to design, manufacture and maintain highly sophisticated products such as aircraft, missiles and space satellites.
The branch also specializes in the evolution and research of commercial and military aircraft, missiles, spaceships etc. Eternal vigilance and mathematical precision happen to be the two watch words for this academic discipline.
The specializations in aeronautical engineering includes the areas like structural design, navigational guidance and control systems, instrumentation and communication or production methods or it can be in a particular product such as military aircrafts, passenger planes, helicopters, satellites, rockets etc.
The qualified professionals may work in areas like design, development, and maintenance as well as in the managerial and teaching posts in institutes. The demand for aeronautical engineers in airlines, aircraft manufacturing units, air turbine production plants is generally high.
I am aeronautical engineer. so feel free to comment your questions.
If you are truly interested in Aircraft then this is the course which shape you as engineer.
But don't think as a girl you can not go for it. Nowadays partiality is removed from every branch of engineering even in Mechanical also. But in aeronautical engineering you can not touch the aircraft. To do so you have to have AME certificate. So there is totally different course which will give you total knowledge about aircraft practically.
In aeronautical engineering you lear aerodynamics, Flight mechanics and here only gaining some industrial knowledge you can go for ISRO, HAL and DRDO etc.
When we talk about scholarship. It is not depend xender but as a girl you can get concession over most of government things. Your 11-12 score matters for it . I can mentionname of scholarship like CM scholarship.
Aeronautical engineers are hired by organizations involved in developing technology, components and products for the aerospace industry. Organizations that hire aeronautical engineers include:
The armed forces
Colleges and universities
Aviation regulation organizations
Airline operators
Engineering consulting companies
Public and private research organizations
Companies that design and manufacture aircraft and aircraft components
Companies that manufacture missile systems
Companies that manufacture navigational, measuring, electro-medical, and control instruments
To be licensed as a professional engineer, you generally need to meet the following requirements:
A degree from an accredited engineering program
A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Relevant work experience
A passing score on the Professional Engineering (PE) exam
Hello Kanak Kumar. Thanks for contacting Careers360 and we hope we will be able to answer your query.
Note that in India, there is a steady rise of the number of women in engineering positions. I don't feel any difference between boys and girls when it comes to being excellent engineers.
Sadly, our society still raises girls and boys differently, so more boys than girls get exposed to mechanical activities, such as fixing cars and playing with construction type toys. Similarly, fewer boys are exposed to traditional household activities, such as cooking, sewing, washing clothes, etc.
So, the answer to your question is " yes "! The girls can very well pursue aeronautical engineering if they are invoiced towards design, analysis, etc.
There is considerable scope for such professionals in the aerospace industry. DRDO, HAL and many private industries/MNCs recently set up, require such analytically oriented engineers.
As regards to scholarships for the girls, I would like to direct your attention to this link for more information:

Hope this helps you and all the best!
Eligibility Criteria
In India several technological universities including the IITs offer courses inaeronautical engineeringboth at undergraduate and post-graduate level.
The basic eligibility criteria for BE / B.Tech program is 10+2 Science (Physics, Chemistry and Maths) with a fairly high percentage of marks in the aggregate.
One must pass the qualifying exam i.e. IIT JEE for admission into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) or the SRMJEE to apply to the aerospace engineering program they have.
For M.Tech program in aeronautical engineering one should have completed degree in (BE/BTech) aeronautical engineering or any other equivalent branches of engineering.
Yes,girls are also eligible
