Can I apply for biotechnology engineering if I don't have taken biology in my high school or can non-medical students apply for biotechnology engineering. And if yes then which exam we need to qualify?
Hi,
For pursuing Biotechnology Engineering stream ,the eligibility criteria for B.tech in biotechnology engineering is completion of class 12 from a recognised board. Science stream is mandatory for studying this course. Candidates need to have 50% aggregate marks in class 12 and must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. If you have not studied Biology as an optional or main subject with Mathematics, you cannot pursue this course.
For admission into B.tech in Biotechnology engineering, both modes are considered for admission i.e. Entrance Exam and Merit basis.
Some of the popular entrance exams are: JEE Mains and JEE Advanced, VITEEE, SRMJEE.
Many institutes provide direct admission on the basis of marks scored in class 12 board examination and direct admission can be done via Management quota also.
