Can I apply for both government and management quota in tamilnadu counselling
Hello Sujitha,
Yes, you can apply for both the government and Management Quota. But you are having other 2 options. In your state, you can apply on 85% seat except own state you have to apply on 15% seat. You can participate in both though not simultaneously as All India 15% Quota counselling starts earlier than State Counselling.
If you participate only in the first round of AIQ(ALL INDIA QUOTA) Counselling then you can surely take part in 85% State Quota counselling once it starts.
You should apply for both and see from which you get a better college. In the end, you will have to cancel admission from one place and retain admission in your preferred college. All India counselling ends before the state counselling. The extra seats are transferred to the respective states after the last round.
The qualifying marks for general category applicants is 50%, while for SC/ST/OBC, it is 40%.
For Government Quota admission, students choose colleges by attending a counselling session. But in the case of the Management Quota, no counselling is required. You need to directly contact the respective colleges for getting admission. Management Quota seats are ten times more costlier than Govt. Quota seats and also depends on the reputation of the college. For instance, government quota seats for medical cost like 55k per year and no donations. While management quota seats may need a donation of 70lakhs to 1 crore or more. And even the yearly fees is 4 times the fee you pay for government seats. So, it's better you choose the Government Quota.
Hope this helps!!
Good Luck :)
