Master of Design(MDes) is a 2-year Post-graduate degree in the field of design. The eligibility for the course is a Bachelor’s degree in Design or in architecture from a recognized institution with at least 50% marks.The Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a joint entrance exam for post-graduate studies in the field of technological design held annually jointly at all IITs and Indian Institute of Science (IISc).

As per the eligibility criteria only the students who had graduated in the field of design or architecture can only apply for MDes.

You may apply for M.Des after graduation in any discipline from any recognized institute but it should be noted that Master of Design is an advanced course and it requires that candidates should have understanding of fundamentals in design and you should be familiar with the skills for successful completion of the course.
