Dear Dipankar, if you belong to the NRI Category, then you should apply for CLAT under NRI Category. Admission will be based on the Preference cum merit basis which means the University you chose and the merit that you scored on CLAT. At the time of counseling, you will need to submit documents of qualifying examination marks sheet, Nationality proof, a true copy of your passport, a certificate from Indian Embassy and your T.C and C.C. If the Board or University from which you have passed the qualifying examination gives marks in grade system, then the formula for conversion of grade into of that country should be mentioned. If you have passed your qualifying examination from a country other than India, you need to submit a certificate from the Indian Embassy or Indian Consulate or Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi stating that the examination passed is similar to the qualifying examination of the Indian system. Certificate from Indian Embassy or Indian Consulate of the country where you are residing to be submitted to the effect that your Father or Mother or you yourself are a non-resident Indian.
