The Indian Patent Office (IPO) administers the Indian Patent Agent Examination each year, which calls for in-depth familiarity with Indian patent laws as well as proficiency in the formulation and interpretation of patent claims.
Eligibility Requirements :
- You must be an Indian citizen, be at least 21 years old, and have earned a degree in science, engineering, or technology from a university that was formed in accordance with Indian law or have other similar credentials as determined by the Central Government.
- Students who are in their last year of study may also apply if they can provide a degree certificate showing all of their grades within two months after the release of the patent agent examination results.
- The following degrees qualify their holders to take the Patent Agent Exam: B.Sc., M.Sc., B.E., M.E., B.Tech., M.Tech, B.Pharm., M.Pharm., and Ph.D. (in any of the above streams)
- You must have passed the qualifying exam established for the purpose, or you must have held one of the following positions for a cumulative period of not less than ten years: examiner, Controller under Section 73, or both, provided that you have ceased to hold any such position at the time you submit your application for registration.
