The Indian Patent Office (IPO) administers the Indian Patent Agent Examination each year, which calls for in-depth familiarity with Indian patent laws as well as proficiency in the formulation and interpretation of patent claims.

Eligibility Requirements :

1. You must be an Indian citizen, be at least 21 years old, and have earned a degree in science, engineering, or technology from a university that was formed in accordance with Indian law or have other similar credentials as determined by the Central Government.
2. Students who are in their last year of study may also apply if they can provide a degree certificate showing all of their grades within two months after the release of the patent agent examination results.
3. The following degrees qualify their holders to take the Patent Agent Exam: B.Sc., M.Sc., B.E., M.E., B.Tech., M.Tech, B.Pharm., M.Pharm., and Ph.D. (in any of the above streams)
4. You must have passed the qualifying exam established for the purpose, or you must have held one of the following positions for a cumulative period of not less than ten years: examiner, Controller under Section 73, or both, provided that you have ceased to hold any such position at the time you submit your application for registration.
