Can i become company secretary if accounts is not in my subject?

Dear aspirant

The basic eligibility for CS is that you should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board or university. You should be definitely learning accounts in company secretary course. Accounting plays a major role in paper of this company secretary course as it consists of two papers which are as follow

Cost and management accounting

Company accounting and auditing practice

So you need to learn the accounts that is the main point.

It means that if i don't take accounts tyan i cannot become cs

The main function of company secretaries include risk management,management of employee benefits,property administration and organisation and the interpretation of financial accounts. So you should be definitely learning accounts in company secretary course.Accounting plays a major role in your paper as it consists of two papers.

1.Cost and management accounting.

2.Company accounting and auditing practices.(It is divided into two papers)

a)Company accounts(which comprises of 70 marks)

b)Auditing practices (which comprises of 30 marks)

So you are expected to learn a lot of accounts for company secretary course.
