• Should qualify 12th or equivalent exam from a recognized board with min 50% aggregate
• Subject combination should be Physics , Chemistry and Maths

Required Entrance exams :

• JEE MAIN
• JEE ADVANCED
• IMU CET
• TMI-BITS-EE etc.

The following course a eligible student can opt to become a merchant navy:

• B.Tech

1. Marine Engineering
2. Naval Engineering
3. Offshore Engineering
4. Naval Architecture etc.

Dear aspirant hope are doing well

You can join the merchant navy course after 12th class from the commerce stream . Any Class X pass students or higher but from non-science background can join the Merchant Navy by enrolling for the GP Rating Course. Admissions for the GP Rating Course are done throughout the year.

GP Rating course stands for General Purpose Rating course. It is a presea training course that even 10th passed students may pursue after schooling! This course will help one in building a career in Merchant Navy. Students who want to have an exciting and adventurous career may go for this course

After finishing the GP Rating course, one may match as Deck or Engine crew aboard ships. After 36

months of sea carrier, one may appear for 2d Mate Examination and rise to Officer. With further sea

carrier and examinations (oral and/or written), one may rise thru the Ranks.

GP rating path is a 6 months residential route. GP Rating Salary: In education duration as an Ordinary

seaman receives 200-300$(Rs 12000-18000), after twelve months of sea service as an Ordinary seaman

candidate gets Watch keeping certificate then candidate receives promoted as Able bodied seaman(AB)
