According to the NTA new announcement the latest exam pattern, paper 1 will have a total of 90 questions, 25 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Candidates have to attempt only 75 questions out of 90 questions. Each subject contains 20 MCQs and 10 numerical questions. 5 out of 10 numerical questions are optional. Numerical questions don't have any negative marking. But if you wish to attempt all 10 numerical questions in JEE mains 2020 you can attempt, but again while correcting only 5 correct questions out of 10 questions are considered even if you write all 10 questions correct.

Hi
No, you can not attempt all the 10 questions of section B or numerical value questions you have to attempt only 5 of the 10 numerical value questions.
Detailed examination question pattern of JEE mains 2021 is provided below:-
In your JEE Mains 2021 examination paper 1 , there will be a total of 90 question, out of which 75 questions are to be attempted
And these questions are from three sections/subjects :-
* 30 questions are from physics
* 30 questions are from Chemistry
* 30 questions are from maths
Out of 30 questions in each subject ,A section will have 20 questions which are MCQs and B section will have 10 questions are questions with numerical value as the answer , out of which only 5 questions are to be attempted.
So, out of 30 questions in each subject only 25 questions are to be attempted, so in total 25 x 3 = 75 questions out of 90 questions are to be attempted.
Each question carries 4 marks
Exam is conducted for a total of
= 75 x 4
= 300 marks
Marking scheme :-
*four marks is awarded for your every correct answer
* 1 mark in deducted for your every wrong answer MCQs
* no marks is deducted for your wrong answer in case of numerical value question
