Dear Tanmay, it depends on your exam centre whether they will allow it or not. Generally, they allow you to carry money with you and keep all the things in your bag outside the examination hall. During my test, we were asked to remove our belts too but we were allowed to keep the money after making it checked by the invigilator.

Sometimes they don't allow to keep anything with you, so during your exam day it's better to take all necessary precautions.
