Hi Omkar,

It is normal to have second thoughts about the stream people choose to study. Courses like engineering do provide an opportunity to change the stream/ branch after the first year of study. So people who feel like they have more interest in a different stream get to change their course.

But changing branch is not possible if you are planning to join Btech after completing diploma (3 year). Lateral entries should stick to the brach they studies during diploma when they enter directly to the second year of engineering. If a different course has to be done, it has to be learnt by joing the course afresh.

Hope the information helps.

All the best !!
