Hi Gaurav,
During counselling, you can change your branch in the 2nd round, if there are any vacant seats left.
But, if you are asking about whether you can change branch in the 2nd year of BIT, Sindri, unfortunately, it is not possible to change your branch.
Even if you are the topper of your branch, there are NO PROVISIONS for changing your branch.
The only way to change your branch or upgrade your branch is if there are any vacant seats left of your desired branch in the 2nd counselling.

If you are talking about changing branch after giving your 1st year examination then of course this is possible.
This system was not available before but now have been introduced from previous year.
This change was brought when college have changed their university from vinoba bhave to JUT(Jharkhand university of technology).
But there is certain conditions for changing the branch i.e
1. Your CGPA should be high so that you can get more preference than others.
2. There must be some seat availability in the branches
You want to take admission.
