Hi Naresh,
Most of the universities provide this provision to get their branch change by second year. They generally require you to fill the form before hand in your second semester, and wants you to be clear in all of your exams with some certain minimum criteria. In case, your college or university doesn't has this provision, you can also change your college or university taking lateral admission in some other college or university or you can choose to re-appear in the entrance exams if you are ready to re-do the first year
Dear sir / Ma'm, it entirely depends upon the college as to whether they will allow you to change the course after one year. Many colleges like KIIT, Bhubaneshwar have this feature that they let students apply for an upgradation at the end of first year if they wish to. Obvioulsy, a benchmark score is also set for the same. So, it depends upon the college entirely.
hey jay,
In most engineering colleges there's an option to change branch after 1st year ( provided you have fairly good CGPA in first year). If you happen to be in such a college which doesn't allow stream change after 1st year (or your CGPA happens to be not satisfactory) you can - ●sit for entrance exam a second time ●take up general stream in any other college. ● you can finish your B.Tech and opt for MBA and thus change your stream. My personal choice would be the 3rd one because the first 2 may lead you to lose a year or 2 which in my opinion is not a good thing for a 19 years old student.
hope it helps!
