Yes, You can get your branch changed after the first year of B. Tech. Because the subjects of B. Tech first year are common for all the branches you can get your branch changed if you score top college ranks for the first year. Some universities also have the rule that you can only get your branch changed if there is an empty seat in the branch you want to go in so you should consult the authorities of the college or university.
