can I change my category from general to ews in jee main upcoming attempt ?.but i dont have certificate now so will it work with applied receipt or any other application proof

Yes of course you can change your category from General to Gen EWS now even if you don't have your category certificate for now but make sure to arrange it before June or July when the admissions will be conducted.

If you don't have your reserved category certificate for EWS category right now then you can submit the undertaking which declares that you will submit the original and valid caste certificate later on at the time of admission. You can download the undertaking from the official portal of NTA, for which link is also given below :-

When you visit on the above link you will find a PDF and on page no.9 there is undertaking format which you have to download and after filling it you have to upload it on the place of category certificate in the JEE-Main 2021 Application form.

Do the above changes before April 4th 2021. Note that you will not be allowed to edit all your details but only some details which are mentioned below :

> Personal Details like spelling mistakes, in your name or your father's name or your mother's name

> Information regarding the academic details like your class 10th details or class 12th details.

> Change of Paper will be allowed means the candidates will be allowed to change their choice of paper from Paper 1 to Paper 2 (and vice versa). Both papers can also be selected for which the candidates have to pay the balance fee.

> Language of Examination will also be allowed to be changed by the candidates within the list of available options.

> Name, State of Eligibility, and Date of Birth will also be open for correction during this correction window.

> The provision of changing categories selected by candidates in the application form is also provided to the candidates. If the candidates changed their category from general to reserved, then no refund of fees will be done. However, if the candidates change their category from reserved to general, then they have to pay the balance fee.

> You will also be allowed to remove any of your image discrepancy (if required) as per the prescribed criteria.
