Can I change the branch from civil engineering to mechanical engineering before first semester in Andhra University

It depenpends on which college you took admission. But as when you are enrolled in the stream you can't change at that moment. But you can change in your second year. let me explain you. In your first year, the syllabus and the curriculum for all the branches are the same. There is no difference. But after the 1st year, you enter to your stream subject slowly. So after 1st year, every college gives a chance to change the stream. but there is a criterion to change the stream. It depends on colleges. Generally, the minimum criteria is 8+ YGPA but it may vary from college to college. I suggest you to ask the criteria for changing the stream.

No there is no such rule that you can change your branch even before first semester, but yes there is a criteria by which you can easily change your branch after first year and for that you have to score above 8 grade points and to be in top 10 percentile of your class. Then you can switch your branch.
