Can I choose aeronautical engineering?
Hello Gowtham, You should Definitely go for it, if you have interest in it because Aeronautical Engineering is crucial in the research, design, development and performance testing of commercial and military airplanes, weapon systems, improve flight safety & fuel efficiency, develop control systems, analyze new materials and use advanced technologies to meet customer needs and reduce the environmental impact of air commute.
And Govt. sector demanding for them + Since last 10yrs - 15yrs private sector creating more placement for them... So, you should definitely opt for it
All the Best
HI Gowtham,
You can pursue aeronautical engg. only if u are interested in it because it is slightly different from other engg. branches and only few colleges offer this branch.
Thanks
I think you can choose any of the branch in engineering but i suggest that your main focus should be on your intrest .
Never ever choose any of the branch without your intrest you can choose any of the branch but that branch decide your future.
here some of top college of aeronautical engineering:
Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur
Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur
Indian Institute of Technology, Madras
and many more...
OPPORTUNITIES & SCOPE
One of the most technologically advanced branches of engineering, Aeronautical Engineers are demanded both nationally and internationally. They are required in public and private Airline Services as well as aircraft-manufacturing units.
Initially, these engineers are hired as Junior Engineers or graduate engineer trainees. Based on their performance, they are promoted to the suitable designation.
Countries like United States of America, France, UK and Germany hire Aeronautical Engineers. In NASA, one can find a good number of India engineers.
The salary to these engineers are offered based on their experience, skills, city of employment and type of employer.
Government/Public sectors (approximately) 8,000 to Rs.10,000 (excluding other allowances)
Private Sector 8,000 to Rs.15,000 per month (approximately) plus perks
Engineering graduates with management degrees 10,000 to Rs.40,000 p.m. (starting approximately) plus perks
The package differs for graduates from IITs and other good institutes/colleges.
AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING TOP RECRUITERS
Aeronautical Engineers are usually hired by top companies like:
Boeing
NASA
ISRO
Air India
Airbus
DRDO
National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL)
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)
Jet Airways
Spicejet
Hope it helps ! Good luck !
there was a lots of future for the aeronautics in india there are more researches goin on at ISRo,BARC and also can land jobs in the aviation and defence of india prior to that the life will be more intresting
Dear student,
Greetings.
Aeronautical engineering is a study about the design and systems of an aircraft. It involves practical and theoretical understanding of materials, assembling parts, testing and maintenance of aircrafts. Professional engineers working in this domain have to be licensed aeronautical engineers. The course also enables students to attain knowledge of advanced technology used in aircrafts travelling in outer space. Aeronautical engineering also covers disciplines like aerodynamics, avionics and propulsion among others. Students pursuing aeronautical engineering can explore opportunities in defence organisations, government research centres, aircraft manufacturing organisations and NASA.
Eligibility Criteria
For UG:Class XII pass-out from a recognised school.
For PG:B.Tech degree in the given areas: Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Automobile, Chemical, Naval Architecture, Electrical, Electronics, Metallurgy & Material Science etc.
Scope of Aeronautical Engineering
There is a lot of scope in government organisations including defence.Aeronautical engineers can have earned well in private MNCsThere are opportunities to work with NASA after completing higher studies in this stream.
Subjects:
Design & Dynamics of Autonomous Micro & Mini Air Vehicles
Fluid-Structure Interactions
High Speed Jets & Acoustics

Missile Guidance and Control
Structural Design & Optimization
Transition and Turbulence
Unmanned and Autonomous Air Vehicle
Wish you all the best for your future.
Best of luck for future!!!!!
Hi!
Yes you can!
You must do what you really want to. Aeronautical engineering does have a good scope in India. If you make it to the bigshots, then well and good. Else there are always opportunities available. But, if you dont have anything in mind, then try sticking to IT or electronics. Those branches are evergreen. I have personally seen people with Aeronautical engineering degree doing very well in life. So, it's not like it's obsolete or something.
