Yes, you can join any stream.After completion of your HSC if you are interested in NIFT then you will also have to qualify the entrance exam of nift in order to secure seat in top colleges.

Yes, you can take commerce stream in 11. Then you will be eligible only for bachelor of design course in NIFT. For studying Bachelor in fashion technology from NIFT, you have to clear 10+2 examination from any recognized central/state board with physics, chemistry and mathematics or you have to pass 3-4 years diploma recognized by AICTE or state board are  eligible.
