Hello Mr. Tripathi,

Students appearing for JEE Main have a common tendency of going to multiple coaching classes. Coaching classes do make education easy with knowledge being imparted by professional tutors. The coaching is enriched with practical experiences. However, coaching does not help you to learn by yourself, which is crucial for such competitive examinations. Some students might even wonder if it is (at all) possible to crack JEE Main without going for coaching. Let the truth be told – it is!

JEE Main and Advanced examinations are the most common entry level exams for aspiring engineers. If you aim for a seat in some of the prestigious Indian engineering colleges like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) or National Institute of Technology (NIT), this is the only channel to place yourself. Only the top ranking students of JEE Main can become eligible for JEE Advanced. Upon clearing both, students can take admission in a preferred college.

JEE is the toughest examination. But, if you are prepared and confident, you can clear JEE Main without coaching too. Months of study, hours of preparation, and a lot of dedication are needed to pass this examination. Even a coaching institute cannot help, if students don’t know what to do.

Advantages of Self-Study over Coaching Classes

  • If you can avoid coaching classes, you can actually save a lot of traveling time to study and revise. Coaching classes located at a distance increases hours of traveling. As a result, students get tired and fail to study on their own when they are back home.
  • You are preparing for JEE Main does not mean that you have to give up your social life. When you study at home, on your own, at your preferred time, you also get time to socialize.
  • You can get plenty of tips and tricks to crack JEE 2017 online – only possible when you devote some time to research.
  • Online test papers, question banks and knowledgeable books are highly beneficial. Students find it easier to revise as well as gauge their level of preparation at home. With some well-researched resources and study materials, each student can study anywhere and anytime.
How to go about self-studying for JEE Main?

In some simple tips, you can find yourself really confident about your decision. From today, start taking these steps:

  • Collect study material: You must collect all relevant study and course material following the syllabus of JEE exam. There are some expert guide books that can help you, such as:
    • Mathematics Study Material for JEE Main & Advanced
    • Chemistry Study Material for JEE Main & Advanced
    • Physics Study Material for JEE Main & Advanced
    • JEE Main & Advanced Complete Course
  • Collect expert guide books: There are several JEE study packages published by eminent book houses that can be used. Solve previous year’s test papers and collect test papers with solutions. You can also find comprehensive course details in CDs and DVDs.
  • Set a time table: Create your own time table to prepare for JEE Main. While coaching classes maintain time, there’s always a risk of distraction. You may also get distracted while studying at home. So, the best way is to make up your mind and prepare a routine to make sure you stick to it.
  • Clear basic concepts: Concept-based questions are very important for JEE Mains. You have to prepare well and solve test papers. If you have clear concepts, you can easily clear JEE Main.
  • Make notes: When you decide not to attend a coaching class, you should start preparing your own notes. While studying, or during an online interactive session, keep a paper and pen handy to jot down important points. When you study, these points can really help.
  • Polish your weaker areas: If there’s any subject that makes you weak, concentrate more. Try to work extra hard on that subject to make sure you don’t give up.
  • Seek help: Don’t hesitate to seek help from JEE experts. Students, professors and online tutors can help you with their knowledge and experiences. This can prepare you for the exam.
  • Test and Reason: Always test and reason yourself on a regular basis. You can take online tests or mock tests to understand your capacity. There are several websites that can help you in this regard.

Also i am sharing an article link. You can go through with this too for better experience.

Above everything, you should hope for the best and trust your instincts. Be positive!
