Hi Anjali!
BA and BA (Hons) are 3 year Course each! BA (Hons) deals with specialization, like you study in detail of a topic. Whereas in BA, it deals generally to the subject. So if you want specialise in Economics then opt for it, or you can look upon doing MA (Hons) in Economics, where you'll also study in dept with a PG Degree!
Hope this is helpful!
All the best!
Hi.
The eligibility criteria for B.A (Hons) is as follows:
The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing B.A. (Hons.) degree is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream from a recognized board of the country.
Some universities and colleges give preference to students who had studied a particular subject in 10+2 which they want to get admitted to graduation.
Many Universities also demand a minimum of 50-55% marks as criteria to get admissions in BA.Hons. Some universities also conduct entrance exams and selection is based on an aggregate of final graduation marks and entrance exam.
However, if you want pursue B.A (Hons) after B.A then it will be counted as your second bachelor's degree and usually it is pursued when people wish to change their career streams or have a specific job in mind. There are no restrictions as such. Students can now pursue 2 degree courses simultaneously. UGC has approved a proposal to allow students to pursue two degree programmes at the same time. One of the degrees has to be in the regular mode and the other either in open and distance learning or online.
If you have a further specific query please feel free to comment.
Best of Luck
