Yes many students have completed their B.Tech and M.Tech from different branches.



Many students appear in the Gate exam in different branches.Someone gives the gate exam in CS branch whether he/she has completed B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical engineering.



So if you give gate exam in different branch then you can do M.Tech in that particular branch.

YES!!!! obviously you can do B. Tech and M. Tech from different branches.. According to me this would be beneficial enough for you to learn about two different branches and explore yourself and your knowledge... Moreover, it woukd also help you out in getting job in different fields and you would be a multi talented or a multi tasking person... In today's world of competition, the individual with multi talents is highlighted to be hired.. And that individual have a different confidence is himself... So, according to my perspective there is nothing bad to do b. Tech and m tech from different branches.. But if you look forward fir doing P. hD, the you can only choose the branch which you have opted in M. Tech....

I would like to infrom you that, you should not change your subject in M tech, it also depend upon that Gate exam based on your interest so you can change your  subjects in whch you have done engineering.
