Hello Student ,

First of all it's too good if you want to do preparation for IAS .So, Yes you can do IAS preparation , as it doesn't matter from which stream you belong . The only thing which matters is that you should be graduated from the stream of any field to be eligible for giving any civil service exams .

The minimum education qualification required for IAS exams is your graduation degree from a recognized college and your age should be at least 21 .

Hi

In order to become IAS officer you have to complete your graduation first after passing your higher secondary examination in any stream.

Then you will have to crack Civil service examination conducted by UPSC.

UPSC takes three examination for civil services.
Preliminary examination
Mains
Personal Interview

The eligibility criteria for writing civil services are:

  • For IAS, IFS and IPS, - Only Indian nationals are selected.
  • All candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Final year student can also apply.
  • Minimum age limit is 21 year. There is relaxation for reserved categories.
  • General Categories - 6 attempts, OBC- 9 attempts, SC/ST- Unlimited attempts
