Many of college realise form for admission.
Candidates have to go through two additional rounds of group discussion and personal interview, as a part of counseling, wherein their communication skills and knowledge of fashion is examined by highly qualified and experienced faculties. A merit list is then issued by each university allocating available seats to the most deserving aspirants.
Students in their final year of graduation, waiting for exam results, are also eligible to apply, but admission to such candidates will be given on a provisional basis, until they fulfill all the above mentioned eligibility criteria.
However, there are certain colleges that provide admission to students based on their accomplishment in the last qualifying exam (i.e. graduation).
Listed below are some of the major entrance examinations conducted in the country for providing admission to the respective course.
CEED(Common Entrance Exam for Design)
NIFT(National Institute of Fashion Technology) Entrance Exam
PAF (Pearl Academy of Fashion) Entrance Test
AIFD (Armed Institute of Fashion Design) Entrance Exam
GLS Institute of Design Entrance Exam
SOFT (School of Fashion Technology) Entrance Test
I hope this helps. Good luck!
You can surely pursue your course in fashion designing but you cannot apply directly for a master's in fashion designing unless you have a basic degree in the same. Your course in botany entitles you to pursue further studies in botany. A master's degree as such. But fashion designing as you realise is a different course altogether.
But you need not worry because changing a course does not impose any restrictions on the said course as such. So you can surely pursue a course of your choice.
Wish you all the best for your future endeavours.
