can i do MS in abroad after BE industrial biotechnology?
Hi,
I hope you are doing well!
Yes, here is the eligibility criteria
1) First of all, u need to have a Bachelor's degree or u can be pursuing one, in which u have some stipulated courses which are prerequisites for any course. For Eg: In MS CS, you should've completed certain required courses.
2) Official Transcripts of ur Bachelors programme are to be submitted to the Universities. It consists of all the courses you have completed in your Bachelor's program and your performance in the same. Typically a GPA of 3.0/4.0 and above are good enough to get good Universities.
3) GRE- Graduate Record Examination: This is an examination conducted by ETS all year round. It is basically an aptitude test for all the students aspiring to pursue any graduate courses in the US. Mostly all the Top Universities of US have GRE as a mandatory requirement to get into the MS in CS courses. However, there are a few Universities which do not require GRE, so it's your choice whether to appear or not but it is highly recommended.
GRE Score: The score range depends on the type of University u want. Very good Universities require a score above 320 out of 340, but it largely depends on the Universities u are targeting. For instance, top tier Universities like CMU, CalTech, MIT require a very high score with an excellent profile and some low ranked Universities might not require GRE.
4) If u are an international student, English Language Proficiency is also a prerequisite which is to be completed before applying to the MS CS courses. These exams are required because English is the medium of instruction in US Universities. English Proficiency tests help in gauging the ability of the students, who do not have an English background, to comprehend as well as communicate in English language.
Two exams can be taken by the student:
TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language): It is an online test conducted by ETS apl year round divided into 4 sections: Speaking, Reading, Writing and Listening of 30 marks each. A score above 100/120 ( 24+ sectionally) would be sufficient to get into decent Universities. Again, the score depends on the Universities u are targeting.
