Hello Alida!

Colleges offering BSc optometry in India don't offer an OD degree. If they are interested, Optometry students go abroad to pursue their OD. The USA, Australia, Philippines, some parts of UK offer OD. After the completion of your BSc degree, you need to clear the Optometry Admission Test(OAT), GRE and TOEFL to be eligible to apply for an OD in the USA. Including your medical residency, it would take about four years to complete your OD in USA, so a total of seven-eight years will be required for this total process.

Browse through the official website of Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO)website. Check the official websites of  individual universities to get a clear picture about the eligibility criteria.

However, you will be settled with a high pay after completing your residency. So, pursuing your OD abroad will be worth it.

All the best!
