Yoy can prepare by your self for IIT without attending any coaching class in 12th,but it would require an efficient time management and a lot of hardwork.
As far as the material is concerned,don't go for too many books,just one book and NCERT book for every subject is sufficient with solving previous year papers.

Chemistry: M.S. Chouhan for Organic Chemistry,Narendra Awasthi for Physical Chemistry,JD Lee for inorganic
