JEE Main 2025: Preparation Guide | High Scoring Topics | Study Plan 100 Days
Hi Aspirant, JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency(NTA) twice an year(from 2019), to provide admissions into various undergraduate courses in various prestigious colleges like NITs,IIITs etc..One session was already held in January and the next coming session will be held in April.Since there is very less time and also boards are approaching, it is better you prepare smarter. For any competitive exam, the whole syllabus is to be divided into 4 parts according to their weightage and level of difficulty, High Weightage, Less Effort(easy): These are the most important group ofchapters. You must complete these chapters thoroughly.Since they require less effort, try to excel in these topics to score more. High weightage, High Effort(hard): These are the second most important group of chapters. You will probably have to spend a lot of time on these chapters. Low weightage, Less Effort(easy):These are the chapters you can do only when you have time left after completing the first two. High weightage, High Effort (hard): Forget these chapters! You dont need to worry about them. Focus on the above three types of chapters instead. Below are the important topics of physics: High weightage, low effort:Heat & thermodynamics, Ray optics,Electromagnetic waves, semiconductors, Error & instrument analysis, Gravitation, Wave optics, Photo electric effect, Oscillations. High weightage, high effort: Electromagnetic induction & alternating current,Rotation, Kinematics,Electrostatics,Current Electricity & capacitors,Properties of matter, Magnetic effects of current & Magnetism, Bohr's Atomic Model, Waves & Sound. Low weightage, low effort: Heat transfer, Fluids, Nuclear physics & X-Rays, work, energy & power, Units & Measurements, Dual nature of matter & radiation. Low weightage, high effort: Circular motion, centre of mass, communication systems, collisions, Laws of motion. Topics of Chemistry: High weightage, low effort: Atomic structure, Gaseous and liquid state, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Nuclear& Surface chemistry, chemical bonding, d-block elements, Co-ordination compounds, Alkyl halides, aromatic compounds. High weightage, high effort: Thermodynamics, p- block elements, General organic chemistry, Isomerism, Aldehydes & ketones, Carboxylic acids & derivatives. Low weightage, low efforts:Chemical Equilibrium, Solutions, Metallurgy,Qualitative analysis, Hydrocarbons. Low weightage, high efforts:Mole concept,Ionic equilibrium, Solid state,s-block elements, periodic classification, classification& nomenclature, Alcohol & ether, Nitrogen & its compounds, Polymers. Below are the topics in Maths: High weightage, low efforts: 3 dimensional geometry, vectors, Determinants & matrices, sequence & series, straight lines, circles,Probability distribution. High weightage, high efforts:Definite integral, area under the curve, limits, continuity, differentiability, functions, applications of derivatives, complex numbers,Quadratic equations, binomial theorem. Low weightage, low efforts:Diffential equation, differentiation, trigonometry, statistics, mathematical logic, set & relation, height & distance. Low weightage, high efforts:functions, properties of triangle, permutation & combination, Indefinite integral. Now, as you got the information regarding the weightage of each topic and the effort required in studying them, plan your preparation accordingly. And since NTA has introduced percentile system from this year(2019), it is not just enough that you score particular mark but you have to score more than the rest to get a good percentile. So prepare well. Thank you!!
