Yes, it’s possible people do it on a daily basis. Almost all the top class students scoring above 600 are freshman. In my batch of AIIMS, almost 50% are freshman. I would like to reiterate that it’s your thought that is blocking you from giving the best out of you. With hard work, it’s even not impossible that you might come up with AIR 1. Keep the hard work going !
Following are some tips from my side to aid in your preparation, but remember you have to decide which subject to study for how many hours.
First things first. Set a goal and you already have one. That's great.
Now start studying. That's the only way you will crack this exam.
Make a plan for yourself, considering your strengths and weakness.
Divide your day in 4 half's, before breakfast, before lunch, before dinner and post dinner. Decide which subject you want to study at what time and keep the post dinner time for sample papers and previous year papers(of NEET/ Boards)
Being fresh in morning do the subject which is your weak point. Remember all three subject are must and you need to study all three each day. On doing that niether will you get frustrated with the course nor will you will bored.
Make physics a plus point for yourself as everyone will have strong biology. Physics is the subject that will give you an extra edge as most of the medical aspirants find it difficult and tricky.
Practice. Daily practice is must. There is one channel in YouTube called CLEARCEPT WITH SHARUN. It uploads DAILY BIOLOGY MCQS for NEET AIIMS JIPMER. Watch those and solve them on daily basis. There are many other channels but this one is run by an AFMC student. It's one other best Colleges of the country so he surely knows about the level of competition and type of questions asked.
Previous year papers. There is trend followed in these exams. Solve as many papers as possible and familiarize yourself self. The same channel has uploaded a number of videos on previous year papers for NEET and other exams
Time management. NEET has a very vast coverage of topics. It doesn't matter how much time you get you will always feel like If I had one more week or month, I would have done this or that, so start your preparation from today itself. You at least won't have much regrets in the end then.
Motivation. Find yourself a motivation. You will have a lot of stress during the preparation, a strong motivation is must to get through the preparation.
You will crack the exam and make to one of the best Colleges of the country.
All the best
