Can I get addmission in IIT bombay or other IIT's than in Karnataka in sc category if I am from Karnataka and I have only caste certificate and domicile certificate of Karnataka and in the Karnataka there is no caste validity certificate that's why I don't have it! So there is an chance?
Hello!
Thank you for your inquiry. Admission to IITs, including IIT Bombay, typically depends on your performance in the JEE Advanced exam and the eligibility criteria set by the institutions.
Since you belong to the SC category and have both a caste certificate and a domicile certificate from Karnataka, you should be eligible for admission under the SC category, provided you meet the required cutoff scores.
While some states require a caste validity certificate, many IITs primarily focus on the caste and domicile certificates for admissions. It’s essential to verify the specific requirements of the IITs you are interested in, as each institution may have slightly different policies.
I recommend checking the official websites of the IITs for detailed admission criteria and guidance. Best of luck with your application!
Hello aspirant,
Yes, you can definitely apply for admission to IIT Bombay or other IITs outside of Karnataka even if you don't have a caste validity certificate from Karnataka.
Here's what you need to do:
- Obtain a Caste Certificate: Ensure you have a valid caste certificate issued by the competent authority in Karnataka. This certificate should clearly state your caste category (SC in your case).
- Domicile Certificate: You'll also need to provide a domicile certificate proving your Karnataka residency.
- Application Process: Follow the application process for IITs. The specific requirements may vary slightly, but generally, you'll need to submit your academic records, entrance exam scores (JEE Advanced), caste certificate, domicile certificate, and other relevant documents.
- Reservation Benefits: If you meet all the eligibility criteria and the reservation quota for your category is available in the IIT you're applying to, you will be eligible for the reservation benefits.
Important Note:
- Validity of Caste Certificate: While a caste validity certificate might be required in some cases, it's not always a mandatory document. The IITs will verify your caste certificate through their own channels.
- State-Specific Reservations: Some IITs may have specific reservation policies for candidates from certain states. Check the admission guidelines for the IITs you're interested in to see if there are any such requirements.
I hope this information helps.
