Hello,

It is highly unlikely to get admission to a reputable engineering college or a National Institute of Technology (NIT) with a score of 20 marks in JEE Main.

JEE Main is a highly competitive exam, and the cutoff scores are typically much higher. For example, in 2022, the cutoff score for general category students was 88.41, and for reserved categories, it was around 60-70.

With a score of 20, you may not even qualify for the exam, as the minimum qualifying marks are typically around 30-40%.

Hope this helps,

Thank you

Hey student,

Getting admission in any government engineering college though JEE Mains with only 20 marks is almost impossible because there are limited number seats in the government colleges and the competition is very tough.

But you may get admission in private colleges and if you like to get a list of possible colleges at your rank then,

I would recommend you to use JEE Mains college predictor tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.

It does not seem possible to get admission in JEE Mains with just 20 marks. The JEE Mains exam has a much higher qualifying criteria.

Key points:

1. The JEE Mains exam is a national-level engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

2. To be eligible for JEE Mains, candidates must have secured at least 45% marks in the qualifying 12th board exams (40% for SC/ST candidates). This is a must minimum requirement.

3. The actual JEE Mains cutoff marks required for admission vary depending on the category and the number of seats available. In recent years, the JEE Mains cutoff has been in the range of 80-90 marks out of 300 for the general category.

4. Scoring just 20 marks out of 300 in JEE Mains would be extremely low and not sufficient to clear the eligibility criteria or get admission in any NIT, IIT or other top engineering colleges.

In conclusion, it is highly unlikely that a candidate can get admission through JEE Mains with just 20 marks. The qualifying criteria and actual cutoffs are much higher. To get admission in a good engineering college, you would need to score significantly higher marks in the JEE Mains exam.

Hey,

No, this score is very low. According to your percentile, you rank will be very high, which makes it tough for you to get into any engineering college, irrespective of your category.

You can try next year for sure. For any guidance, you can ask your doubts on Careers360 platform.

Best of luck!
